Recycle…Every Little Bit Counts

I love recycling and being good to this little earth of ours. I’m not great at it, but I try.

Here are a few easy ways I try to stay committed.  It is all about keeping it simple.

As I go into this I have to throw my mom a bone.  She has recycled as long as I can remember and many times I thought it was embarrassing and at times still do.  Love you mom and yes I do recycle.

  • The big blue trash can.  If you don’t have the big blue trash can in your alley and you live in Dallas.  Shame, shame.  Dial 311 and get one.  You can throw all recyclable items in one trash can and they pick up weekly.  Get on it.
  • I try to reuse tissue paper and gift bags.  I am the embarrassing person at the shower (only if I’m a hostess) folding up all the tissue to be reused. Yes, I admit it and yes it is a little bit embarrassing. Poor Katherine…I can already feel her cringing at 16. Ha. By the way, if you ever need a gift bag please call.  They are taking up too much space.
  • Recycle your clothes hangers.  Most of us go to the dry cleaners regularly, so not a big inconvenience.   And most dry cleaners will recycle.  My dry cleaner gives us a box specifically for hangers.  It is pretty fabulous.   Check out this great box, it sits perfectly between my shoes.

Ask your dry cleaner.  Have a great weekend.  Happy recycling.
