The Divide – Asparagus Fern

Here goes.  More clean up, clean up.  As we discuss getting our lawn ready for Spring we also need to think about our plants in containers and pots.  It is very simple.

In the below photo the bottom right picture was the asparagus fern before the divide and then see it in the basket after the divide. It is still a full lush plant.

Ferns quickly get root bound, meaning there are so many roots it is cramped and has no place to go. You can just begin breaking the plant apart.  You cannot hurt it. Have a little root and put it in a pot with dirt.  As you can see here there are lots of plants that I can now share with others.

Happy Gardening!
